Once an insurance company has deemed a vehicle a total loss, its title will be “branded” as salvage (hence the term “salvage title”). In most states, you cannot drive a salvage title car on the road or obtain insurance for it, and it is hard to find a company willing to insure or obtain financing to purchase even a previously salvage title car.

A rebuilt salvage title is better than just salvage. Someone has cashed in insurance, marked the title salvage, repaired if required, and had it inspected by a state authority. I ran a rebuilt salvage car for years because of hail damage. This state of title doesn't always mean it is only for off-road use.
A salvage title, junk title, rebuilt title, or certificate of destruction are almost always permanent brands on the title which cannot be removed. In rare cases a very complex and expensive process of reconstructing the vehicle and inspection may upgrade a branded title status, but it typically involves more expense than the vehicle is worth.
The new title will be identical to a non-salvage vehicle title except it will indicate the vehicle has been revived from salvage.
